The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern would like to see a few new faces come to Stamford Bridge this month…
The Blues are performing fantastically in the Premier League, and the fans leaning by the bar in the Transfer Tavern haven’t stopped talking about how well Antonio Conte has done at the club.
The Italian must be given credit, in particular, given that he has turned a group of players that were battling relegation for part of the season last year into Premier League title contenders – though our landlord doesn’t think that the Premier League will continue to be so easy for Conte as the season continues to progress.
He thinks that Conte simply must add a bit more quality to his side, and it would appear that the Italian himself agrees.
According to the Evening Standard, Franck Kessie is still on Chelsea’s radar as Conte looks to continue to improve his side – and the Blues are reportedly still in negotiations for him.
They note that a January deal is the plan for Conte, though Atlanta’s hesitancy to do a deal in the middle of the season is holding up proceedings.
Franck Kessie is a player that has attracted the attention of the European football fans in the Transfer Tavern for a while, with his box-to-box style gameplay a natural fit for the Premier League. At 20-years-old, Kessie’s constant running and technical prowess are particularly impressive – and he would undoubtedly provide a long-term solution at Stamford Bridge for Antonio Conte.
The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are still hoping that a deal can be done…
