Chelsea fans could be about to get the deal of their dreams here in the Football Transfer Tavern if the Times are to be believed as they claim that the Blues might land Mattia Destro – and get rid of Fernando Torres to boot.

Not only would this be a massive coup for Jose Mourinho, with Destro one of the best young forward in Europe at the minute, and someone who has bags of potential, but it would also offer a welcome exit for Torres, who incredibly seems to be regressing at the Blues.

As one of our punters notes over a pint, it was a lack of goals that cost Chelsea last season and despite finally bringing in a world class forward, we still worry that should Diego Costa succumb to injury, Mourinho and his side will struggle.

That would make Destro the perfect back up option- although we cannot quite believe that Roma are willing to let one of their prized assets leave and bring in a player who has certainly seen better days!
