Chelsea Summer Transfer Wishlist

Chelsea Summer Transfer Wishlist

Just few months on from Club World Cup glory, Chelsea had crash landed back to reality, Enzo Maresca left amid tensions with the ownership, form was abysmal, and what once appeared to be a team on the upswing was now a fledgling project having its weaknesses exposed on a weekly basis. Things aren’t quite down and out for the Blues, they have talented players and an interesting manager in Liam Rosenior, a strong summer window could be enough to turn things around. In this, we will be taking a look at a summer wishlist that even online casino bd could have odds on pretty soon.

Jan Paul van Hecke

Brighton & Hove Albion has been a happy hunting ground for this club in recent years as Marc Cucurella and Moises Caicedo are two of the leading players in the current squad. With defensive issues plaguing them all season it would be silly not to return to such a proven solution to pick up centre-back Jan Paul van Hecke.

The benefits of signing the Dutch international are aplenty, most notably his proven quality in the Premier League. He is also used to defending high and playing around a press as the Seagulls play a slightly similar system to Chelsea when OOP, this comfortability when playing higher up should make him a great signing to fill one of the biggest issues the Blues currently have.

James Trafford

Even the best melbet download app couldn’t have guessed how things would go under Pep Guardiola last summer. With the manager opting to move on from an ageing Ederson the team backed him by signing young England starlet James Trafford. The youngster looked set to become the number one choice for one of the nations biggest clubs.

What really happened is the Cityzens pounced on an opportunity and snagged Gianluigi Donnarumma from Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain and prioritised the Italian over Trafford.

This could present a great opportunity for Chelsea to capitalise on another City wantaway. Trafford is unlikely to unseat Donnarumma anytime soon, but he could become the clear number one at Stamford Bridge with neither Rob Sanchez or Filip Jorgensen impressing under Rosenior.

Mike Penders is seen as something of a saviour by fans and those within the club but it is highly doubtful he can hit the ground running in his debut campaign in England and would be better suited having someone to learn under, Trafford could be the best stop-gap and competition for the young Belgian.

Illiman N’Diaye

Not every signing has to be a headline stealing, world class addition that wows fans. In fact, some of the best purchases any team can make are players who just fot the role that’s needed. Illiman N’Diaye hasn’t set the world ablaze with Everton but he is a seasoned, Premier League proven winger who could offer consistency in a position that the Blues currently struggle with.

Jamie Gittens has had injury issues and often looks like a shadow of himself, Pedro Neto is more frustrating than dazzling, and Alejandro Garnacho is an attacker who contributes goals but can’t be trusted as a regular starter to deliver every time out. Any time a Chelsea starting lineup drops it is a guess as to who could even feature on the wings.

What N’Diaye can bring is a sense of consistency, with a proven ability to dazzle on the wings and collect goal contributions against all manner of defences. He could be used for a few seasons to allow Gittens time to develop on loan before the two compete to see who is the best in a few years.
