The general chatter in this latest saga of the summer transfer market indicates that Craig Bellamy would welcome a move from Eastlands to White Hart Lane. His reasons are his own, but a likely one is his desire to once again play in the Champions League, as well as frequent first team football. Tottenham are almost guaranteed a place in the group stages, since BSC Young Boys are as easy a draw as they could have hoped for.
With Tottenham desperate to negotiate with the much Premiership pedigreed Welsh striker, City hold all the cards, as they look to exploit their desperation as weakness. Earlier in this saga, there was talk of a return to his homeland through a deal with NPower Championship side Cardiff City – perennial promotion contenders – who are financially on the ropes, but City would stomach a drastically cut price for Bellamy – if he went that far away.
Undoubtedly, he possesses the kind of firepower Cardiff need to finally smash the glass roof of promotion, and considering their current financial stance, it is all or nothing for Cardiff, who need Premier League football now more than ever.
