The Newcastle fans in the Tavern will be excited by the prospect of signing a highly-talented forward on a relatively inexpensive deal, with the 21-year-old having been tipped for stardom from an early age. A gifted attacking midfielder, he’d bring some creativity to St. James’ Park, a trait they lack outside of the excellent Jonjo Shelvey.
However, some of the locals will be concerned that he has failed to reach his potential in recent years, with loan moves away and will question what the Kosovo international can bring to St. James’ Park, should he arrive.
The amount of interest being shown in him from Everton and Huddersfield Town as well could suggest that he still has the ability to become a top player in the game and a fee of £2.5million could be a small price to pay for a gamble that could pay dividends.
