Chelsea And Tottenham Outpriced By An Optomistic Cole

Chelsea dynamo Joe Cole has apparently recieved a knock back from Stamford Bridge on the old wage front. £100,000 a week? Even JT’s hush money bill isn’t as high and he was’playing’ every week.

Tottenham are the continual name in the frame for the diminuative dad, but how does that stack up? The wage cap at White Hart Lane is a notorious deal breaker.

The only glimmer of hope is that the player is allowed to walk out of South London come the summer. And quite what Chelsea’s motivation might be for this is anyone’s guess.

Tottenham’s need for Cole could be argued for and against in equal measure. Whenever they seem to be getting it right in on department it goes wrong in another.

My view is this particular move is no closer to happening just because it’s been rumbling on for ever. Harry Redknapp certainly is a Cole fan, but this and getting him in at the right money are world’s apart.
