Not since the rather upsetting loss to Burnley way back in August have the Liverpool fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern stopped beaming with delight.
The Jurgen Klopp era is truly kicking into gear at Anfield and the Merseyside titans look like genuine title contenders under the charismatic German’s stewardship once more.
Now, as confirmed by their official site, the former Borussia Dortmund coach has moved to secure the club’s long-term future by tying three promising stars down to lengthy contracts.
Kevin Stewart, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ben Woodburn have penned new deals with the Kop titans after impressing Klopp with their performances at youth level.
In fact, 22-year-old Stewart has made 17 appearances for the first-team and the classy midfielder recently played in the EFL Cup against former club Tottenham Hotspur.
Alexander-Arnold is another to have played in that fixture, while young forward Woodburn was a revelation at times during the club’s pre-season.
”This is really positive news of course, and it’s brilliant we have acted decisively to show our intent with our young players”, said Klopp.
“With Kev it is maybe a little different. He is of course established with us now and making a contribution as an important member of our first-team squad.
“Trent spends most of his time with the first team in this moment and is progressing each and every day.
“Ben is in those earlier stages and has a lot of developing to do still – but wow, what an exciting talent he is.”
