Though the Chelsea fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern had been delighted to watch their side progress into the next round of the FA Cup, it seems the win over Manchester United came at a cost on Monday night.
Since October, Blues boss Antonio Conte has largely refrained from chopping and changing his side in all of their 3-4-3 glory, during their meteoric rise up the league. Now top of the table, little has looked like changing, with those in west London an imperious 10 points clear of Tottenham and Manchester City.
Still, the Blues in the bar have been worried to hear reports from All Nigeria Soccer claiming Conte lynchpin Victor Moses could miss up to three weeks of action with a calf strain. Converted into a right-wing back this season, the Nigerian star has become a major part of the club’s title challenge and key to their new formation.
It’s been quite a story for the Chelsea fans frequenting our four walls, who gave the 26-year-old little chance at the start of the campaign, so the idea he could miss games at this important part of the season is certainly a worrying one for our punters.
How big a blow could this be for Conte? Let us know below..
