Chelsea are flying in the Premier League at present, but the Blues in the Transfer Tavern don’t want Antonio Conte to slow down anytime soon…

Chelsea are on course for a historic Premier League title win, which is particularly surprising given how poor they were last season.

They just about scraped into the top half of the Premier League, with Antonio Conte leading a revolution at Stamford Bridge in the months since.

However, Chelsea’s performances last season proved that their squad was limited in its quality – whilst Conte has got the best out the team this year – that surely can’t last forever.

Add to this the departures that have already taken place at Chelsea over the last week or 2 – and it starts to become clear that Antonio Conte desperately needs to bring in a few players

The January transfer window is well underway, and Conte would be wise to bring in a couple of stars as soon as possible.

With that said, Conte needs to get Abramovich to sanction these 2 transfers next week…

Fernando Llorente

Fernando Llorente, whilst not a ‘typical’ Chelsea signing – is one that would make a lot of sense.

He offers something very different to Diego Costa. His playstyle, very much that of a target man, is something that Chelsea have lacked for several years – and he would offer Conte an alternative method of playing should the Blues need it.

He would be perfect if Chelsea were chasing a lead or trying to hold on to one. The defensive line would be able to spray balls forward and he could control and move the play on – which is something that Costa can sometimes struggle at.

If he is cheap, it would be a low-risk option for Conte.

Jonas Hector

Marcos Alonso has been good this season, but he hasn’t exactly been a standout member of the Chelsea first team.

He has often struggled against the top sides so far, and whilst he has been a good signing for Conte – the Italian could look to improve the position, as it is arguably the weakest in the squad.

Jonas Hector could be a good option. Currently playing for Cologne in Germany, he has experience at both domestic and international level – and is arguably one of Europe’s most impressive young full backs.

Any deal to bring him to London would be a difficult one to complete, but Chelsea certainly have the funds.
