Offensively, the Blues have been consistent – but there are certainly some holes in the rest of Chelsea’s squad.
A formation switch has made some players, including the likes of Oscar and Cesc Fabregas, somewhat redundant – and that could spell the end of their tenure in London.
As a result, Conte will no doubt have the funds to spend a bit of money in the new year, and our landlord thinks that the Italian should look back towards the continent – and in particular, he thinks that Conte should look towards Germany.
The Germans have been dominant internationally for several years now – and they have some top players in their ranks that would prove to be excellent acquisitions for Antonio Conte.
With that said, Conte simply must consider signing these 2 Germans in January…
Niklas Sule
Niklas Sule is a towering 6ft5 defender, and he is absolutely perfect for the Premier League.
John Terry has always been Chelsea’s tall, defensive stalwart at the back – and Sule could be the perfect man to take over the reigns from the Chelsea legend.
At just 21-years-old, Sule is a long term solution for Conte – and despite his height, he is as nimble and technical as a player half his size.
Conte would be wise to approach the German.
Antonio Rudiger
It might be considered a strange move for Antonio Conte to go in for 2 central defenders in January, but both players are desperately needed at Stamford Bridge.
Branislav Ivanovic, Gary Cahill and John Terry are all facing uncertain futures at Chelsea after a poor run of form from the trio; and Antonio Conte’s defence is in desperate need of a rebuild.
Antonio Rudiger would be the perfect man to partner Niklas Sule in the heart of the Chelsea defence, and he would solve Chelsea’s defensive issues long-term, considering he is just 23 years-old.
Rudiger would no doubt be a pricey option, but prior to a long-term injury, he was one of Europe’s finest defenders.
Under Antonio Conte, he will only get better.
