Conte simply must start these 2 players against Brentford today – Agreed?

Antonio Conte’s Chelsea outfit has been a breath of fresh air to the Barclays Premier League this season, with the Blues on course to regain their title when May comes around.

The Chelsea supporters who can regularly be heard in the Transfer Tavern are relishing the prospect of their team reclaiming the prize which they handed to Leicester City with a whimper, following their success the year previous.

Today represents another challenge for the Blues as they face Championship outfit Brentford in the FA Cup, a competition which Conte will also be looking to go far in.

With Conte and his side several points clear at the summit of the league, it could be a chance for him to run the rule over some of his squad’s fringe players this weekend.

Writer Lee Clarke looks at two players who simply must start for the Blues this weekend.

Michy Batshuayi

The Belgian striker has not taken too well to life in English football and he looks short on confidence right now.

Saturday could be the perfect opportunity to get the talisman on the park against lesser opposition, in an attempt to get him a much needed goal to bolster his mentality.

One Chelsea fan is having a game of darts here in the Tavern and he thinks that Batshuayi must start this weekend, stating that it is too much of a risk to be playing Diego Costa every single week, given the club’s lack of strikers.

Nathan Ake

The versatile defender was recalled from a loan spell with Bournemouth earlier this month and now looks to be part of Antonio Conte’s plans.

The FA Cup game against Brentford would be the ideal opportunity for Conte to take a look at the young defender in action.

One Chelsea fan is having a pint with his pals in the Tavern and he is delighted that Ake has returned to the club, stating that he hopes to see him in action sooner rather than later at Stamford Bridge.
