Manchester City fans here in the Tavern are enjoying a feeling of excitement, with the whole heap of talent they’ve been linked with in January.
Pep Guardiola’s Citizens have proved that money does buy happiness and the City fanatics here in the Tavern are jubilant with the way things have gone for their side so far this season, with the domestic unbeaten streak still sitting proud.
Now looking to improve on things to cement their promising position, Pep and his staff must see the January transfer window as the perfect opportunity to build on their current status, both home and abroad.
Due to the season-ending injury to one of their summer signings Benjamin Mendy, they’ve been forced into looking to enlist a suitable replacement in the one area that they feel they could be short in, the full-back positions. Indeed, one of the names that is on the shortlist for the Manchester side is Joshua Kimmich, a 22-year-old full-back who has established himself as a Bayern Munich regular.
Having shown their interest in Kimmich, the club have attempted to re-open contract talks with the right-back, who can also operate on the left and will be known to Guardiola, who previously coached the German giants.
However, with contract talks still ongoing, there is that slight glimmer of hope that still sheds some light on the possibility of welcoming this man to the Etihad, considering the financial power of City.

Mass of potential
Still, in his younger years at 22, he very much has his whole career ahead of him. Continuing on the trends in performance that he’s currently on could see him follow in the footsteps of Bayern Munich legend Phillip Lahm, for both club and country.
Setting the stage for Pep Guardiola, who has been one of the best managers in world football for bringing the best out of players, and developing ready young talent, the two will be very familiar with each other.
Joshua Kimmich has the potential to become one of both Germany’s and Manchester City’s most prominent players at this stage already. With an awful lot of future progression still to undergo, capturing this young man and providing him with the right guidance could potentially have the Citizens defence set for the next 10 years.

It’s very rare for you to see a young player who breaks through into one of the world’s giant clubs with the wealth and money that’s floating around the modern game.
Already as a permanent starter for one of the top 5 clubs in the footballing game, it just goes to show that, in his current state, he’s already made it to that elite level that’s attracting the attention from all angles.
Offering a diverse range of developed attributes such as; a lovely first touch, incredible crossing ability, pace, strength, maturity, composure and positioning needed to be successful in a defensive role.

The German defender made the switch to Bayern Munich back in 2015 from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, in what was a stroke of genius from the man recruiting the youngster.
Ironically, the manager who saw fit the gain the signature of the defender was current Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, who visioned great potential in the youngster to go with his current bundle of abilities.
So with an interest from the man who brought the youngster into the limelight for the Bundesliga champions, perhaps a favour is due with a move to what is currently a more in-form side, with bigger aspirations for the Champions League.
