According to The Daily Star, Crystal Palace have joined Liverpool and Arsenal in the hunt for Marseille’s Maxime Lopez, leaving our local Eagles fans here in the Transfer Tavern excited that they are trying to compete with some of the best in the league.
Arsenal and Liverpool have both been flying this season and are level on points at the top of the Premier League table with Manchester City with the Reds beating Palace 4-2 as recently as Saturday evening.
That, though, does not appear to be deterring Alan Pardew and his team from pursuing the youngster who is earning quite a good reputation down in the south of France.
The report suggests it is Palace that are in fact leading the race for his signature after he broke into the first team at the Stade Velodrome this season under manager Rudi Garcia.
A loan move could reportedly be on the cards in order to help him develop in the first-team.
The 18-year-old midfielder is dubbed the ‘new Samir Nasri’ in France and our local Palace fans think that’d make him a more than welcome signing at Selhurst Park.
