Dean Henderson shouldn’t give into the temptation of blockbuster move yet

After impressing for Sheffield United in the Championship, the spotlight’s suddenly turned towards promising goalkeeper Dean Henderson.

The Manchester United loanee’s been a standout for the Blades, helping them keep afloat in the race for gaining promotion next season.

Apparently, his rise has attracted attention from the best and according to reports (via ESPN), Bayern Munich and Juventus want to sign him next season. Attraction from such European heavyweights might be a bit overwhelming for young Henderson, but he shouldn’t let fame deter his progress.

Henderson, who has kept 10 clean-sheets for Sheffield in 31 appearances, is a guaranteed starter for a side who can potentially play in the top-flight next season.

However, a move to an overseas giant like Bayern or Juventus can halt his development. Henderson won’t really get many starts for both the clubs, who are heavily packed in goalkeeping talent and surely won’t include him in their senior side for anytime soon.

Frustration could mount into hindering his talent and pressure of having to perform at the top could make him fail into unknown territory.

Henderson should be encouraged by the Red Devils new-found approach of giving their own more chances after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s arrival. Knowing United’s fantastic goalkeeping coaching department and his healthy development, the youngster could soon be deputy #2 for David De Gea and even be the Spaniard successor in the long-term.

However, hunger for immediate fame by moving elsewhere could cost him dearly in the future.
