The Reds have confirmed that Pedro Chirivella has joined Dutch club Go Ahead Eagles on loan for the rest of the season in an evident bid for him to ascertain more game time in his fledgling career.
The youngster has made just five appearances for the Reds’ first team and that suggests to our landlord that he has work to do before he can really nail a place down in the side.
For our Liverpool fans here by the bar, seeing young players go out on loan is never a bad thing as long as they improve and come back with the bit between their teeth.
They’ll be looking for Chirivella to do the same, then, with the Spanish midfielder expected to still have a bright career at the higher levels of the game – with or without the Reds.
