Our Newcastle fans here in the Transfer Tavern cannot wait for their side to get going this season with them playing Tottenham on the opening weekend of the Premier League season.
The Magpies are back in the big time after winning the Championship under Rafa Benitez and our landlord cannot wait to see his Geordie punters with smiles on their faces come kick-off.
For sure, the plan for Benitez is to try and keep those smiles going for the rest of the season and it seems as though many want him to sign more players to keep that going.
Indeed, former manager Alan Pardew reckons that the club is going to fork out more money before the end of the window – as per Mark Douglas on Twitter:
