Our Newcastle fans here in the Transfer Tavern cannot wait for their side to get going this season as they host Tottenham on the opening weekend.
The men from north London make the trip to Tyneside on Sunday as one of the sides expecting to challenge for the title but they’ll need to be ready for what is going to be a raucous atmosphere at St. James’ Park.
Meanwhile, the Magpies’ players will also have to deal with the expectation weighing down on them and so it could be a corking affair to watch on Sunday afternoon.
Whilst we wait for kick-off, though, the club has learned who it will face first in this year’s Carabao Cup – Nottingham Forest.
