Former Premier League footballer Danny Mills believes Carlo Ancelotti will be pondering over the where the future of Morgan Schneiderlin lies, after highlighting the decline of the midfielder at Everton.

Schneiderlin joined the Toffees two years ago after struggling to make an impact at Manchester United, but Mills believes he has not shown the class that caught the eye of the Old Trafford giants in the first place back in 2015.
The Frenchman was a regular in his first full season at Goodison Park in 2017/18, but his rate of appearances dropped under Marco Silva last year and he is yet to make a league appearance under Ancelotti.
Speaking to Football Insider, Mills thinks the manager will be mulling over whether to sell up during the duration of the current transfer window.
He said: “Morgan Schneiderlin’s been a very good player – you don’t go from Southampton to Manchester United if you’re not good.
“Something’s gone wrong along the way, can Carlo Ancelotti turn that around? What does he see and what does Morgan Schneiderlin need right now to get him back on form?
“I don’t think he’ll make his mind up until the end of the window.”
It is difficult to tell what Ancelotti makes of Schneiderlin due to the fact the 30-year-old had been nursing a calf injury either side of the Italian’s appointment on Merseyside.
However, as Mills suggests, the arrival of the new man in the dugout could leave his future hanging in the balance.
After all, it was not Silva who brought him to Everton but former Southampton boss Ronald Koeman, and his lack of appearances last year suggests he was the kind of case that Mills fears could be reoccurring under Ancelotti – even if injuries could again have been partly to blame for Silva’s perceived lack of support in 2018/19.
Schneiderlin could therefore count himself extremely unlucky if he is ditched by Ancelotti having been granted a starting role in Duncan Ferguson’s first game in charge, but since he was reinstated against Liverpool last weekend, there is perhaps still hope for the midfielder.
