There’s been a lot of talk surrounding transfers and contract extensions in the Everton camp lately, with Mason Holgate penning another five years and talks of Leighton Baines committing to his 14th season. Fans are going to be even more thrilled with the news that top scorer Dominic Calvert-Lewin has also committed his future to the club (via Everton).
The 22-year-old has been in fine form this season for Everton and is rapidly establishing himself as a real Premier League threat in attack. Calvert-Lewin currently has 13 goals in the league and two in the Carabao Cup (via Transfermarkt).
His Premier League goal tally sees him inside the top ten highest scorers of the campaign so far, level on goal amount with Sadio Mané and Raúl Jiménez (via BBC Sport).
The Blues have struggled with their attack ever since Romelu Lukaku departed for Manchester United, but Calvert-Lewin may well be the answer they’ve been searching for and fans couldn’t be happier he’s signed a new deal. One fan has said they are ‘absolutely delighted’ with the news and that they ‘always had faith’ in DCL.
