Everton made it two wins out of two this season following their 5-2 victory over West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
The Toffees hosted their first home game of the new term, coming off the back of their impressive performance against Spurs. The 1-0 opening fixture put Carlo Ancelotti’s side in good stead to continue winning ways.
Thanks to a Dominic Calvert-Lewin hat-trick and a goal each for James Rodriguez and Michael Keane, Everton brushed aside the newly promoted Baggies.

Their high-scoring win puts them second in the Premier League table, level on points with four other sides who have also secured maximum points so far.
However, despite a strong win and them now being ahead of rivals Liverpool, several fans have pointed out some worries from the West Brom match.
A couple of supporters have highlighted Jordan Pickford as their side’s weak link. One Blue has admitted that he ‘worries me’ whilst another was ‘not impressed’ with his Goodison Park performance. According to Sofascore, the England international made an error which led to shot and was successful in just two saves.

Despite having a man sent off, West Brom still managed to score through Matheus Pereira in the second half. Pickford additionally managed only one of his six attempted long passes.

Pickford worries me. Should have been quicker for the first and dropped his arm for the second. Almost looked like he had a bet on. Time for another i think. Some defensive issues as well but great to watch going forward at times and James looks a player.

Scary first half where we could have been 2 or 3 down until West Brom imploded. Another scare at the start of the second, but DCL got his hat-trick in the end. Hunger, fire, determination especially in that second half. Top of the league for now 🙂

We weren’t as good as last week, but these are the type of games we need to win. We will get better and stronger and the confidence will grow throughout the team

Our defending concerned me occasionally, but everything else was just what we’ve wanted to see from an Everton side for years. Especially good to see that we kept going against 10 men, & didn’t try to coast it. James’ 1st goal was a peach & DCL fully deserved that match ball.
