Everton: Fans hope Harry Tyrer can take Jordan Pickford’s place after signing first professional contract

Loads of Everton fans have responded to young goalkeeper Harry Tyrer signing his first professional contract with the club, hoping that he replaces their first-team shot-stopper, Jordan Pickford.

The 18-year-old put pen to paper on his first deal at the club after clearly impressing academy coaches at Finch Farm. Tyrer signed a two-and-a-half-year deal at Goodison Park after just one season with Everton’s U23s. he has managed to keep one clean sheet in nine appearances, which was during a 0-0 draw against Leicester City at the start of the season, as per TransferMarkt.

Supporters suggested that they hope that he can come in and replace Pickford in Carlo Ancelotti’s side. This comes after the Sunderland-born keeper came under intense scrutiny following a string of performances where he made mistakes. One fan hopes that Tyrer can replace Pickford going forward, while another jokingly suggested that his arms should be measured, referring to Pickford’s trolls calling him a “T-Rex” for having small arms.
