More players are expected to follow Davy Klaassen out of the Goodison Park exit door, but one individual Everton supporters will be desperate to see stay is Jordan Pickford.
Pickford has been one of the Toffees better signings in recent transfer windows and was one of England’s standout performers in this summer’s World Cup.
The 24-year-old has since attracted interest from Chelsea as they seek out potential replacements for Thibaut Courtois, who is being lined up by Real Madrid for a move to the Bernabeu (via Sky Sports).
The former Sunderland shot-stopper is only a year into his five-year deal, but the Merseyside club will be wary of his head possibly being turned by Chelsea’s interest.
Given that £31.5m-rated (via Transfermarkt) Pickford only arrived at Goodison Park last summer, giving him a new contract may some unnecessary for some.
That being said, the England goalkeeper is well on his way to becoming one of the very best goalkeepers in the Premier League — if not already — so Everton cannot be faulted for trying to tie down one of their most prized assets.
Have a look at what Everton fans are saying on Pickford’s contract situation below…
He came last year, on a 5 year contract? Think this is a bit panicky. Wouldn't mind him staying, but he's probably on a decent wedge already, no need to break bank if he's on another 4 years..

The new contract offer and subsequent rejection is usually the beginning of the end for players at Everton.

Contracts mean nothing these days. Once There’s no buy out in it. He deserves to be on more than some of the lemons we are paying over 100000 to
