Loads of Everton fans have been replying to a post shared on Twitter by Andre Gomes, calling for the Goodison Park faithful to rally in support of Marco Silva’s men against West Ham United this weekend.
Everton welcome Manuel Pellegrini’s Hammers to Merseyside on Saturday looking to record their first win in four Premier League games, having succumbed to defeats against AFC Bournemouth, Sheffield United, Manchester City and Burnley since scraping a 3-2 win at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Blues’ recent run of results means the Merseyside outfit come out of the international break inside the bottom three of the top-flight table, as Silva’s side are the only club not to take any points since their win over Wolves.
Gomes is expected to be in contention to face the Irons on Saturday lunchtime after recovering from his rib injury (Liverpool Echo), but Silva could be without Fabian Delph with the England midfielder a doubt due to a hamstring strain.
The 26-year-old has moved to rally supporters ahead of facing the Irons, noting on Twitter that the Everton first-team know how important the next games are for their season.
“We all know how important the next games are,” he said. “We’re working hard so we can invert the bad results and climb to the place we belong.
“Saturday, we’re counting on your support as always!”

Lots of Everton fans have not taken his recent post on Twitter well, though, with many replying that the Goodison Park faithful consistently give their backing to the Blues, but cannot say the same about the players’ desire.
Here are some of the messages shared in response to Gomes’ post…
The support from the fans has always been there Andre shame we can’t say the same about the players couldn’t care less attitude and gutless performance. NSNO

Andre. The most important game is the one on Saturday. You and the rest of the team must impose your quality and intelligence on the March in question. Forget Silva’s model. It doesn’t work. Pass forward quicker control the outcome. Win win win. Nothing else will do. COYB. NSNO.
