Plenty of Everton fans have been slamming the Daily Mail as they compared Edouard Mendy’s challenge on Ashley Barnes to Jordan Pickford’s challenge on Virgil Van Dijk.
As per the news outlet, the Chelsea goalkeeper went unpunished for a rather rash challenge on the Burnley striker inside the first few minutes of the game, which Frank Lampard’s team eventually won 3-0 thanks to goals from Hakim Ziyech, Kurt Zouma and Timo Werner.

Nonetheless, the challenge by Mendy was compared to that of Pickford’s on Van Dijk in the Merseyside derby against Liverpool a couple of weeks ago.

The England international has been heavily criticised for the tackle ever since the match finished, and now it seems as if several members of the Goodison Park faithful have had enough.
