The 18-year-old has featured just once for the senior side this season during their 4-2 win against Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup.

After the victory in Lincolnshire, teammate Lucas Digne heaped praise on the attacking midfielder as Gordon went on to score a wondergoal against Mansfield Town in the EFL Trophy, which the young Blues eventually won on penalties after a 1-1 draw after normal time.

As his side sit sixth in the Premier League 2, the first team have not had such a fun time during the current campaign. The Toffees sit in 11th place and have only picked up seven wins from 21 games.

His performances for the second team at Goodison Park have caught the eyes of the coaching staff, with manager Carlo Ancelotti saying that he “sees a lot of quality in him”, as per the Liverpool Echo.

Supporters now want to see Gordon introduced to the fold more often, with one fan believing that his inclusion would be a dramatic improvement from Theo Walcott.
