Everton’s Director of Football Marcel Brands celebrates his 58th birthday today, sharing the day with Theo Walcott and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Indeed, Blues fans have a lot to celebrate today as two players and their director share a birthday. Marcel Brands replaced Steve Walsh in 2018 as the Director of Football, taking the responsibility for who the Blues bring into the club.
Prior to his Merseyside move, the Dutchman spent eight years with PSV Eindhoven, joining the Eredivisie side to try to improve transfer strategies and academy development. During his time with the Dutch outfit they won three league titles, three Johan Cruyff Shields and one KNVB Cup.

Many Everton fans are hoping Brands will bring in some good business this summer and ship out the deadwood who have been coming under fire recently, including Gylfi Sigurdsson and loanee Djibril Sidibe.
One fan is hoping that Brands is ‘busy finding some wonderkids’ to add to the roster this summer.
