Many Everton fans have been left rejoicing as some news emerged involving Anthony Gordon.
As shared by the official website of the Goodison Park faithful, Gordon has received his first call-up to the England U21 squad by former Toffees player now manager Lee Carsley for a couple of games against Czech Republic and Georgia later this month, the former being a qualifier for the European Championships.
Should Everton start Gordon?
Rafa Benitez has recently shared his thoughts on the midfielder and his call-up, claiming that ‘he’s growing and getting better’, and ‘will be an important player’ for the Merseyside club in the future (The Liverpool Echo).
He has already played in 28 senior matches for the Blues, including eight appearances so far this season (Transfermarkt), despite being just 20 years of age, and his five assists in those games shows that he has contributed to the team.
