Mo Besic and Yannick Bolasie have not been included in Everton’s Premier League squad for the 2020/21 term, as per the Liverpool Echo.
Indeed, both players were linked with moves away from Goodison Park in the summer transfer window and the fact that they have not been named in the 25-man squad suggests that they are free to leave the Merseyside club at the next opportunity.
Besic was linked with a move to Rangers and Bolasie was linked with a move to the EFL Championship on Transfer Deadline Day, with Blackburn Rovers, Millwall and Middlesbrough all showing an interest in signing him.
Besic has shown his qualities before
Indeed, Besic has proven his qualities before, having shown his desire to get stuck into duels by winning 2.4 of his on average per game in the Premier League in the 2019/20 season whilst on loan at Sheffield United (Sofascore).
Should Everton sell Besic?
The Bosnia international was even credited with silencing Lionel Messi while on international duty in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, as he impressed while marking the Argentina superstar (Goal).
However, Besic has not played a single match for Everton since 2017, so perhaps it is not a surprise that he has not been listed in Carlo Ancelotti’s 25-man Premier League squad.
Bolasie needs to leave Everton
Bolasie, meanwhile, has not played in a competitive game for the Toffees since 2018.
The DR Congo international has shown before that he can be ‘unbelievable’ at times, exemplified by him managing to bag a rather impressive hat-trick away from home versus Sunderland when he was playing for Crystal Palace back in the 2014/15 campaign.
However, Bolasie is currently earning £75,000 per week at the Blues, or £3.9 million a year, per Salary Sport, so getting a non-playing player off of the wage books may be a wise move for EFC to pursue.
