Plenty of Everton fans have been reacting to a transfer update as West Brom, among others, are interested in signing Cenk Tosun.
As per Turkish news outlet NTV Spor, the Turkey international is also attracting interest from his old club in Besiktas as well as FC Schalke 04 and Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga.
Should Everton sell Tosun?
Sam Allardyce’s team in addition to the two German sides have reportedly made contact with the Goodison Park faithful with regards to the possibility of signing the 29 year-old, while Besiktas want to add him to their squad in this month’s transfer window.
The striker has seen his game-time very limited so far for the Merseyside club in the 2020/21 season, as he has played in just six games over all competitions, picking up a mere 45 minutes of football in total (Transfermarkt).
Thus, a move away for him may be best for all parties involved.
Everton fan reaction to Tosun update
These Toffees supporters seemed very happy on Twitter to let the forward go after reading the transfer update:
“It’s not worked out for us or for him. Get the best price possible and reinvest in another striker….this is exactly why we pay Marcel Brands the big bucks.”
“Why would we want to keep him, he hasn’t even touched the ball in his last 3 sub appearances. He is slow ponderous and just basically bang average, he scored about half a dozen goals since he has been here, please get rid of these wage thieves we accumulate!”
“I’ll drive him there”
“Keep him for what? Making the tea at half time? I like the bloke and all, comes across as a decent fella. But he’s not Premier League standard I’m afraid.”
“Of course Allardyce wants him, and he can have him”
“Prefer to keep him? He is woeful! If we don’t get a replacement we already have Simms who is a star in the making that will slot right in. Move him on”
