Many Everton fans have been left slamming the news that Marcel Brands does not expect to sign any new players in this month’s transfer window.
As per his latest comments that were relayed by Alan Myers on his Twitter page, the Goodison Park faithful are still working to offload players but do not expect to bring anyone new in, which has not gone down very well with several supporters of the Merseyside club.
Should Brands sign a new deal at Everton?
The Toffees are looking to cement their place in qualifying for European competition for the 2021/22 term, and the addition of one or two arrivals may help them edge toward doing so.
They perhaps need to look for a back-up striker to Dominic Calvert-Lewin with Cenk Tosun not really cutting it, who can help ease the goal scoring burden off of the England international for when he is out injured or misfiring.
Nonetheless, it looks as if there will be no new additions this January for the Blues.
Everton fan reaction to Brands update
These EFC supporters slammed the transfer update on Twitter, with one fan even claiming that not signing anyone would be a ‘big mistake’ by Brands:
“Still feel as though its a missed opportunity”
“Bring on the fume!!”
“Best time to strengthen is from a position of strength, if we don’t move for quality this month it will be a huge opportunity missed.”
“Still so many holes in the squad and we have such an opportunity this year. Bit weird this.”
“Missing a golden opportunity there. Bring in someone like Milik looks a must once Tosun leaves.”
“Big mistake Blues.”
