Responding to a tweet from ex-Hockey Olympic gold medallist Samantha Quek, centred around her recent BBC Radio 5 Live verdict that FA Cup replays potentially need to be scrapped, Toffees supporters have had their say in reply to fan account The Gwladys Street online – continuing to slate the football pundit for her ‘attention seeking’ opinion.
Quek, who clinched gold at the 2016 summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro with Team GB, has since gone on to become a footballing pundit – talking extensively surrounding topics in the English game. Her latest verdict, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, hinted at the possibility of potentially scrapping FA Cup replays in an effort to preserve the fitness of players and clamp down on hectic scheduling – with extra-time and a penalty shoot-out being an alternative. As a result, she received backlash, with this thread on Quek’s opinion riling up Toffees supporters again as they continue to disagree with the former Hockey champion.

In 2014/15 my local team Warrington Town reached the second round a huge feet for the club, their 1st and 2nd round games were both on TV and gave the club a huge finance boost which has seen them promoted twice and in a play-off place for the national league

Replays against a bigger team bring a lot of things to a football club.
Money
Playing home/away against them
Reputation
Infamy
A sense of pride
A chance to be on TV (less chance since they show Liverpool or its every round)
A chance to kick-start a teams season. It goes on— Gaming And Football (@GamingAndFooty) January 28, 2020
The FA cup provides the opportunity for players/clubs from the lower leagues to play against the best in the country.
The cup provides a platform for players to prove themselves.
The cup provides exposure for lower league clubs and iffrrs potential new revenue streams.

The whole system is a joke
Forget league football for a minute here
Do you know the cost of running a junior team? Pitch hire, equipment, ref fees, kits🤷🏻♂️
Who provides our kids with a pay day to play?
So pro teams should not rely on a replay to keep the club going @SamanthaQuek— Andrew Gillbanks (@AndrewGillbanks) January 28, 2020
