Everton fans, it seems, are far from happy with comments from Mason Holgate after their 3-1 defeat against Manchester United.

After a positive start to the season that saw the Toffees win four matches in a row, Carlo Ancelotti’s side have now lost all of their last three games. They even took the lead in this latest clash through Bernard, but a Bruno Fernandes double and a strike from Edinson Cavani turned things around for the Red Devils.
Saturday was Holgate’s first appearance of the season for the Goodison Park outfit. After the clash, the £16.2m-valued defender (Transfermarkt) was asked about his thoughts on the defeat, and he said that the players must now stay level-headed and know that they are good enough to turn things around.

This has not gone down well with the fans at all. They have demanded that Holgate and his teammates do their talking on the pitch rather than after the game – they took to Twitter to share their frustration.
Let’s see what the fans had to say about Holgate
Sick of these quotes after defeats, do it on the pitch https://t.co/i0cdHNGmbV

They should do their talking on the pitch

AGREED!
Mason & Sigurdsson from what I’ve seen, can not be options in the starting XI.

That’s the rub. The squad ain’t anywhere near as good as they think it is. Too many passengers

Bingo!! I guessed it will be Holgate on Saturday who did the rallying call this week. If it wasn’t so sad and predictable, id be very happy.

I’m actually sick of player after player coming out with the same dross about must do better, we must learn.
Been going it for season after season and nothing changes
Place to show it is on the pitch not in the media. #SickOfTheExcuses— Ayman (@chilemjh) November 9, 2020
In other news, Everton fans want this man to start.
