Ex-Chelsea midfielder discusses possibility of major summer transfer

Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have enjoyed a successful week, as they followed Saturday’s 4-2 FA Cup semi-final victory over Tottenham Hotspur by a win by the same scoreline in the Premier League against Southampton.

The Blues’ victory on Tuesday evening has helped Antonio Conte’s side push further towards the Premier League title and fans are dreaming of a double this season, as they fancy their chances in next month’s FA Cup final with Arsenal.

However, major changes are expected at Stamford Bridge this summer as the Blues prepare for a return to the Champions League and Chelsea will lose their services of a club legend, as John Terry is set to move elsewhere.

The former England skipper has been linked with a wealth of clubs but former Blues midfielder Gus Poyet, now manager at Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua, told TalkSport there’s a ‘great possibility’ he’ll move to the far east.

“It is a great opportunity for him and for all the teams here in China, including us. The latest change of the quantity of foreigners on the pitch stops some clubs from bringing in defenders, but we are talking about a special one.”

“It is a great possibility that China will be one of the possible situations for John Terry in the future.”

Our landlord has always stated that a move to China or the MLS is most likely for Terry, as he can’t see the experienced defender lining-up for another Premier League side in the same fashion that Frank Lampard did.
