Such is the vibrant nature of Tottenham Hotspur’s current team, the punters propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern aren’t surprised to hear rumours and reports in regards to their burgeoning young stars.
Which is why a story yesterday claiming Harry Winks was in line for a shock call-up to the Spain side, due to family heritage, didn’t cause as much of a shock as it usually would. The bar stool experts in the Tavern believe the 21-year-old is an amazing talent and many have known about his Spanish heritage since he broken into the first-team.
On Harry Winks. His great grandparents (not his grandparents) are Spanish which doesn't qualify him 2 play for Spain. The Spanish FA know it

However, Sky Sports expert Guillem Balague has chimed in on the matter, allaying English fears the talented midfielder could switch allegiance to La Roja. He claims it is Winks’ great-grandparents who are Spanish, a connection that DOESN’T qualify him to play for the national team.
Whether or not he’d have got in any way is another case entirely…
