Rangers: Fans react to Aaron Cervantes signing

Glasgow Rangers have confirmed the signing of Aaron Cervantes from Orange County SC.

The 18-year-old has completed a move from the American side and will join up with the Glasgow club’s youth set-up initially. As confirmed by Craig Mulholland, head of the academy at Ibrox, he is likely to go out on loan to a European side to continue his development.

This is an interesting signing which is part of the club’s partnership with Orange County. In terms of Cervantes’ first team prospects, he is unlikely to work his way into Steven Gerrard’s plans any time soon. After all, he has the likes of Allan McGregor, Jon McLaughlin and Andy Firth all in front of him in the pecking order. Having said that, he has already represented the USA at the Under-17 World Cup, which illustrates he has a certain amount of pedigree.

The news attracted plenty of attention from Rangers supporters and many took to Twitter to share their thoughts. A couple of fans, seemingly, are only interested in whether Jack Wilshere will make the move to Ibrox as the ex-Arsenal midfielder has been linked with a switch to the ‘Gers.

Let’s see what these Rangers fans had to say about Cervantes’ arrival
