Celtic fans in the present day are being faced with the real prospect of losing out on Lee Congerton. The rumours are circling that he could leave Parkhead, with The Telegraph claiming he could be set for a summer reunion with Brendan Rodgers at Leicester. However, here we’ll be looking back on when he was appointed at Parkhead.

The news that Congerton was appointed was hardly met with loads of pleasure from the Hoops. His time at Sunderland came before him and the fans were slightly nervous given the way that the Blackcats had recruited with him in charge. In the days since Congerton went to Sunderland, the Mackems have found themselves suffering a double relegation with a number of high-profile transfer duds.
In his days at the Stadium of Light, the only man that the fans were pleased with signing was Jermain Defoe. Whilst his time at Celtic has certainly been much more impressive with some of the players he’s brought in and the trophies he has won, it will never change the fact that when he was brought into the club it was brought in the Bhoys were far from happy, and you can see their thoughts below:
need to give this guy a chance good cv bad few years if he can bring another Victor virgl foster am happy #nbrendanwetrust

This guy has a lot to prove going by his past record, his last few years have not been the best, BR must have faith and his back.

The Bhoys were far from happy when Congerton came in and were hoping his time at the club was very short, however, he has certainly impressed in his time and punched above his weight.
