Manchester United fans here in the Tavern wait anxiously for the summer transfer window, in the hope they can catch up with bitter rivals Manchester City on the domestic front next season.
Indeed, Jose Mourinho hasn’t always got the reception he’d be craving at Old Trafford this season, with the additions of Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba being heavily criticised by some of our regulars here in the Tavern. Indeed, both players are yet to display the form that gifted the opportunity of a move to Manchester, which has made for a sense of unpredictability with these two in the starting line-up.
Although, Mourinho will be keen to step off in the right direction for the summer transfer window, with him already keeping a close eye on a couple of potential signings. Indeed, Manchester United are eyeing up a move for Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos, a longstanding target of United’s that’s caught their attention on numerous occasions.
However, the Portuguese manager should avoid another disaster in Toni Kroos, as the German has struggled at times over in Spain with his performances lacking quality.
Therefore, with far superior midfield additions to be had around the world, he should look to land ONE of these TWO superstar midfielders in the summer…
Ivan Rakitic

The Croatian was one of the hottest topics in Spanish football during his time at Sevilla, which rewarded him with an exciting move to Spanish giants Barcelona. And, with 13 goals in 88 appearances for his national side Croatia, it’s safe to say that Ivan Rakitic has the quality to perform at the highest level on a world stage.
Although, over the past couple of seasons he’s struggled to nail down a starting place in the side, with the recent addition of Philippe Coutinho not helping his cause. A frustrating sign to see one of the world’s best midfielders only being utilized as a bench player, something that’s stopping the 29-year-old from reaching his maximum potential.
Therefore, United should look to make a move for a stable midfielder that has the ability to run the middle of the park, while offering an attacking outlet with his adventurous runs and a deadly right-footed strike.
Isco

The Spanish magician is one of the world’s most talented midfielders, as a star performer for his current side Real Madrid. Although, what makes Isco so special is his ability to create something out of nothing, as a gamechanger for Los Blancos at the most desperate of times.
And, in a midfield position that currently sees Jesse Lingard thrive off an attacking midfield role in the middle of the park, bringing Isco to Old Trafford could see United reap the rewards of an immediate impact on the trophy front.
Indeed, a player that’s already had links to Manchester United, as they’re set to battle it out with Liverpool in the summer for his services.
