Forget Lawro – Here’s Tonight’s Predictions!

A mixed bag tonight. The gradual easing of the Premiership fixture backlog and the FA Cup gives us a game from each competition. That said, a cracking night ahead of you if you’re attending either game.

Everton vs Reading

Everton host Reading as they continue their stealthy path towards the recognition they deserve this season, but are unlikely to get in the Premiership. Cups are still wonderful things as Birmingham proved against Arsenal on Sunday and I hope that David Moyes gets a bit a sunshine in his occasionally overcast life.

I predict a 2-0 win which is a handy enough 11/2.

Chelsea vs Manchester United

I’m struggling to see this Chelsea revival we keep being told is taking place. Chelsea looked good against Copenhagen in the Champions League, but a rested Copenhagen are not to be confused with United in the spring.

United’s away form however has been uninspiring by their own standards and it’s difficult to see them choosing Stamford Bridge as the place where they choose to go into overdrive.

The most obvious outcome would appear to be a draw. So let’s go for an exciting one and turn a few quid at the same time and say 2-2 at a rather large 14/1.

Well now, when it comes to football, one man has for many years been the most noticeable, the most controversial, and occasionally the most successful blogger this country has ever produced. His pithy words and abrasive style make him as famous off the pitch as he is on it. This man is Escapini. "I love football. Football she's a cruel mistress. She's, she's more than a mistress. She's a wife, she's a mother, she's a daughter, she's an errant child. She's a… she's a… she can make you laugh, she make you cry. She can bring tears me eyes. She can bring blood to me shoulders. She can bring a kettle to the boil." "Cause football is about nothing, unless it's about something and what it is about, is football."
