Our Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern are pleased to see that their side has responded strongly to their opening day loss against Burnley.
The men from Stamford Bridge were pretty poor against the Clarets, it has to be said, but since that game they have won two on the bounce against Tottenham and Everton.
Certainly, then, talk of a crisis has abated for now and it now remains to be seen whether or not the Blues decide to bring in some more players before the window shuts.
In the meantime, though, Alvaro Morata certainly is already looking at home at the club with the likes of his countryman Cesc Fabregas evidently helping him settle in and that pair came in for praise from Pat Nevin.
Indeed, the former Blues man was writing on the club’s website and said of the duo’s performance against Everton:
“They were setting up chances for each other and linking up continually all over the sun-baked pitch. There were times when they were not only speaking a different language to the opposition, they seemed to be playing a different game.”
Exciting stuff for Chelsea fans to be reading, then, and the two Spaniards do certainly seem to be clicking at this early stage in the season.
For sure, then, that should only get stronger over the rest of the campaign.
