Glasgow Rangers: Fans hit out at club’s transfer policy after Jordan Campbell article

An article from Jordan Campbell in The Athletic has elicited a backlash from some supporters against the club’s transfer activity.

The journalist revealed that, since taking the manager’s job in May 2018, Steven Gerrard has signed no fewer than 36 players, and yet there are questions about the depth of his squad following a spate of injuries. Campbell also posted a link to the article on his Twitter profile @JordanC1107.

Despite the abundance of new faces, Gerrard has yet to win a trophy at Ibrox or even mount a sustained challenge for the Premiership title – the ‘Gers have finished nine and 13 points adrift of Celtic in his two seasons in charge.

The Light Blues have had to contend with several injury problems in the early weeks of the season, with Nikola Katic and Leon Balogun set to be sidelined for some time, Ryan Jack and Joe Aribo set to miss the next few games, Jermain Defoe only just back from injury and Kemar Roofe now facing a spell on the sidelines.

Gerrard has publicly stated his wish to bring in a midfielder in the remaining 13 days of the transfer window in order to add more depth in that position.

These ‘Gers fans on Twitter feel that the lack of depth despite the volume of signings is a bad indictment of the manager and board over their transfer policy in the last couple of years:
