‘Get in the real world Rafa!’ - Newcastle fans react to eye-brow raising news

Our Newcastle fans here in the Transfer Tavern are reeling slightly from what was a real opportunity missed this weekend just gone.

The Magpies went into their game against Birmingham City on Saturday knowing full well that their title rivals Brighton could have dropped points against Leeds.

The Magpies, though, couldn’t apply much pressure as they only mustered a draw against a lowly Blues side before duly seeing the Seagulls losing at Elland Road.

They’re a point clear nonetheless, though, and as they aim to return to the Premier League they’re certainly getting linked with plenty of players.

Indeed, The Daily Star has accredited them with an interest in Luke Shaw which would certainly be a surprise transfer if it was to go through.

Certainly, many Magpies on Twitter would love it to happen but can’t see it whilst others just think it’d be too much of a risk.
