Our Leeds fans here in the Transfer Tavern just have not stopped smiling and chanting since their late draw against Newcastle last night.
The Championship threw up a great game yesterday between two of the biggest sides in the division and despite Newcastle’s second-half pressure, Leeds stood firm to keep themselves in the game.
And, as the clock moved deep into stoppage time, they finally struck back with a fine goal from Chris Wood to send the Whites into raptures at St. James’ Park.
It was a performance of resilience instead of brilliance in the end for the visitors but it’s still being widely praised and Garry Monk was certainly quick to refer to the club’s never say die attitude.
Indeed, he was quoted by Phil Hay – via Twitter – as saying that he feels the Whites have a granite chin and, naturally, that got plenty of Leeds fans talking.
