Glasgow Rangers: Fans unhappy with Jamie Murphy departure links

Jamie Murphy has been linked with a move away from Glasgow Rangers, with Dundee United said to be interested in his services.

The 30-year-old signed for the ‘Gers for £1.08m in 2018 after a promising six-month loan spell which saw him score five goals and create 10 more in 19 games. However, a cruciate ligament injury almost immediately after that permanent arrival meant that he has played just 10 more times for the 54-time Scottish champions since August 2018.

As such, he could be on the way out of the door; and with less than a year left on his contract, the Ibrox outfit could be willing to let him leave for a cut-price fee.

News of Dundee United’s interest in him has attracted the attention of many ‘Gers supporters, and it is fair to say they are far from happy  – the £720,000-valued man (as per Transfermarkt) also scored seven goals in 10 matches on loan at Burton Albion in the second half of last season, showing that he still has talent and ability.
