As the transfer window approaches its end, Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is still looking to sign another midfielder – something he has previously confirmed he wants.
Already on this deadline day, we have seen the Gers make a loan offer for Juninho Bacuna, who currently plays for Huddersfield Town, but that was rejected by the Terriers.

It appears that the most likely deal of the day for the 54-time Scottish champions could well be a move for South Africa international Bongani Zungu. The Gers have been linked with the 27-year-old for a while, and it now seems he is within touching distance of a move to Ibrox – although he will be coming in on loan. Given he has just one year left on his contract, the Gers could sign him permanently on a pre-contract in January.

It seems the Gers supporters would be happy with such a deal. They took to Twitter to share their thoughts, and you can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below.
Kent and Hagi loans didn’t go too bad, best way forward imho

Would be the best option esp if he had downed tools recently

If Ross Wilson has managed to manoeuvre the Zungu deal from an asking price £3/4m a couple of months ago to a season long loan where we can have a look at the boy then sign him for nothing in January, then that’s incredible work.
Fingers crossed.
