Glasgow Rangers: Hull eye permanent Greg Docherty deal

As per The Daily Record, Hull City are said to be eyeing up a permanent transfer for Glasgow Rangers’ Greg Docherty.

Docherty has been linked with a move away from Ibrox this summer, and now it seems that League One outfit Hull would like to sign him.

Others, such as Hibernian and Shrewsbury, are also said to be interested in the 23-year-old, who is not a part of Steven Gerrard’s plans this campaign.

It is actually surprising to see him potentially be on the move this summer – his recent form indicates that he at least deserves a chance to show what he can do at Ibrox. During the 2018/19 campaign on loan with the Shrews, he registered a respectable 10 goals and 11 assists in all competitions, and even though he managed to appear just six times during the first half of the previous campaign for the 54-time Scottish champions, he managed to create three goals.

He joined Hibs on loan in January, and continued to impress, racking up a further three goals and five assists in seven games – he appears to be taking every opportunity thrown at him at the moment, with 35 assists throughout his career to date. It is a crying shame that Gerrard does not see enough in him to give him his chance in the first team – he may have exactly the vision he needs as the Gers go in search of a first piece of major silverware since 2011.
