According to LeedsLive, Leeds United are set to make a bid of £3.8m for Argentinian winger Pedro de la Vega, who could be signed as an alternative to Ryan Kent.

The Whites have been linked with a move for Kent, with them even having a bid of £10m rejected by the Gers.

Now, they could look elsewhere, and de la Vega could be a replacement for the 23-year-old Liverpudlian.

There is no doubt that this would be a massive boost for Steven Gerrard if the newly-promoted Premier League side do begin to look elsewhere – Kent is a hugely important part of not just his squad but his starting XI, with him having scored three goals in his first five matches in the Premiership this term.

Of course, every player has his price, but if the Ibrox outfit can resist the temptation to part ways, then Leeds will have no other choice but to look for alternative options – they will not want to be scrambling until the very end of the transfer window. Gerrard will be hoping the Whites can get this deal for the 19-year-old over the line.
