Glasgow Rangers youngster Lewis Mayo has signed a new contract with the club.
The 20-year-old has signed an extension that will see him stay at the club until 2023. So far, he is yet to make his professional debut for the Ibrox outfit, but he is highly-rated with the 54-time Scottish champions, and this shows that the club have plenty of belief in him to shine in the future.

Upon the signing of the deal, Mayo told the club’s official website:
“It was a time for me to learn about myself and prepare myself for stepping into this level of football. I look back on that time with a lot of fond memories.
“This is huge for me and for my family. I have been at the club since I was seven years old so Rangers is very much home to me.
“I am looking forward to seeing what the next few years will hold.”
Mayo is a central defender, and as such, he may find it difficult to pick up a lot of time on the pitch this term. Connor Goldson, Nikola Katic, Filip Helander and Leon Balogun are all ahead of him in the pecking order, and Steven Gerrard is unlikely to throw him into the mix with those options already at his disposal.

However, should injuries occur, he may find the opportunity to show what he is all about. If that chance does arise, it is one he must take.
