Glasgow Rangers: Fans in disbelief at Neil Doncaster’s new job with UEFA

Glasgow Rangers and SPFL chief Neil Doncaster have had a strained relationship in the past few months, to say the least.

It all started with the farcical situation involving Dundee, when their vote for the league resolution proposal was first not registered and then changed. That led to the ‘Gers accusing the governing body of corruption and demanding that Doncaster step down from his position. They even called for an independent investigation into the authority, but that did not occur.

There has been a war of words between the two parties and it is fair to say that the ‘Gers supporters are not his biggest fans of the SPFL chief. Despite the controversy surrounding him, though, it has now been revealed that he has been appointed to UEFA’s Control, Ethics and Disciplinary body.

This has attracted plenty of attention from these ‘Gers supporters – they appear to be in disbelief, with one fan even calling the news “very dangerous”. They have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts and you can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below:

Uefa giving Doncaster a powerful position not long after 1/3 of clubs in the league he runs voted to essentially say they don’t think he can be trusted is utterly insane.

Doncaster on the Uefa disciplinary panel…..I think all Rangers fans know what this is about deep down. Liewell is going to be feeding him everything he needs to punish us for everything and anything. This is dark and it’s very very dangerous. Worse than the FARE agenda.
