Glasgow Rangers: Fans rage at Ross McCrorie sale

Glasgow Rangers have confirmed the sale of Ross McCrorie to Aberdeen.

It has looked for a while as if the 22-year-old may be on his way out of Ibrox this summer. He spent last season on loan at Portsmouth in English League One and, following his return to the 54-time Scottish champions, Steven Gerrard said that, as long as the right offer came in for him, he would be leaving the club in the near future.

He has now completed a switch to the Dons, who will take him on loan before signing him permanently next summer for a reported fee of £350,000.

The news of his departure has attracted plenty of reaction from ‘Gers supporters, and it is fair to say that many are far from happy with the news that he is leaving – given that he is valued at £810,000 by Transfermarkt, the fee does seem rather small and, considering Gerrard has previously called him a future captain, it is disappointing to see him leave.

These supporters have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts – one even called it a “horrendous decision” – and you can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below:
