‘Good luck at your next club’ – Leeds United fans on Twitter sceptical of latest contract update

Pablo Hernandez celebrates scoring the second goal for Leeds United

The Leeds fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to the latest contract update surrounding star player, Pablo Hernandez. The Spaniard’s contract is set to run out in just a few months time, and at the age of 33, it’s likely that his next contract will be his last. According to The Yorkshire Evening Post, the club has offered him a two-year extension, although Paul Heckingbottom remains cautious over his future.

Pablo Hernandez has been one of the few Leeds players who’s deserved to wear the shirt for the club throughout the whole season in the current campaign after their spectacular fall from grace since the new year. The Leeds fans understand the importance of Hernandez to the club, as a large majority of the players not living up to the expectations the fans hold of them has seen the club plummet to 14th in the Championship, despite being 6th on January 1st.

Next season will be the ninth straight year where Elland Road is a Championship ground and the fans will be itching to see Premier League football returned to the Yorkshire club. Unfortunately, the fans can’t see this happening whilst the club is under the control of Paul Heckingbottom. The ex-Barnsley man, who takes charge against his former club this weekend, has won just two of his 13 games in charge and claimed a miserly ten points out of the 39 available to him so far in his reign.

sounds like we’re making excuses already

Potentially the final 2 years of his career, why the hell would he spend it playing with this collection of wasters? #lufc

He’ll only have his head turned if #LUFC don’t convince him we will progress next season! @GeorgeFrielick1 @stuart_feather @davem1957

This should have been wrapped up well before now before other clubs even started sniffing around him

I wouldn't let Heckingbottom sort out a Big Mac meal order never mind the future of our players….

Letting Pablo go would be reckless…by far our best player this season..he's worth a two year deal #Gibraltarwhite
